and Mom's Been Busy Ever Since

I've been told that when you go from having two children to three, you go from being man on man to zone defense. I couldn't figure out why life is so hectic since we only have two. Then the other day I realized that when it's just me and the boys I'm on zone defense! I keep telling Tom I live in a constant state of triage. Enough about me though, you're here to read about Wyatt!
Well, I didn't realize it would be 6 months until I made it back here to do updates, and I need to be better because HE HAS CHANGED SO MUCH! Wyatt's been sleeping through the night (I mean 8-10 hours) since he was about 8 days old. He's been sitting up well since mid September. He already has two teeth. He's eating solid foods and loving them. He's just begun working with a sippy. He is just a super mushy baby and really very Jolly. He's very smiley and has a wonderful little laugh. If he's being fussy you can be sure he's either hungry, poopy or about to be  poopy, or tired. He's a little Nosey Posey though and often gets through the day with just one long nap because he's to busy let himself fall asleep. With little to no training from us Wyatt has decided his bedtime is around 8:30 or 9pm - let him nurse and he goes right off to dreamland. When he wants to nurse look out! He'll nurse on any available body part until you give him what he wants. Have you ever tried changing a baby who has your arm in a bear hug and is sucking on your elbow? He's even grabbed two handfuls of my hair and started nursing on my chin. He has great dexterity and control for someone who is only 6 months old. Just because you THINK it's out of his reach does not mean it is.
Yes, he is quite the character. Both of our kids have been very expressive with their legs. Connor used to get excited and bang his heels on the counter or floor when we were getting his bath ready. Wyatt's little legs are always going and he does a similar little kick when he's excited. He also has his "Angry Leg." When he isn't happy about something his little left leg starts kicking.
Both boys have had some trouble with dry skin since we moved to Pennsylvania. Wyatt has to be greased up like a thanksgiving turkey a couple times a day or he starts to get a little eczema. He hates it for the most part. You would think we were rubbing him down with a Brillo pad the way he carries on.
He absolutely loves baths and gets to have them with Connor which is never dull. It's much easier now that he is sitting up to. Occasionally Connor tries to help bathe Wyatt. This usually involves dousing him with water. A few times though, he has helped to carefully rinse Wyatt or rub shampoo in Wyatt's hair. One night Connor slid up behind Wyatt with a leg on each side and a wash cloth and started washing Wyatt's back.
It's interesting to watch the two of them together. Wyatt seems to think Connor is great. For the most part Connor seems to feel the same. He'll often go sit and play with Wyatt or spontaneously give Wyatt a hug and a kiss. Then there are times he steals Wyatt's toys, or knocks him over, and he hates sharing my lap - but Wyatt has to nurse! One morning last week I was trying to get us all out the door. I had Wyatt  dressed and sitting on the rug in the foyer. I was working on myself and Connor was avoiding me. He was running circles around the rug and then suddenly started saying (in a playful voice) "I can't see... I can't see... At which point he walked over in front of Wyatt, put his foot between Wyatt's legs and his leg right against Wyatt's chest and said "I can't see..." then promptly kicked Wyatt over. Connor gave me a big smile while Wyatt laid there looking adoringly at his big brother.

He's Here!!!

Well, he has finally emerged!!!!
Wyatt Manning Person was born on the morning of April 25th, 2011 at 10:21 AM. He was 21 1/4 inches long and weighed in at 13 pounds, 5 ounces. Yikes!!!
The first day was a little stressful. He had a little trouble breathing for the first hour or so and spent a night in the NNICU. The following day he had improved enough he was off oxygen and got to go down and spend the night in mommy's room. The following day (Wednesday the 27th) both he and mom were doing well enough they got to escape and are now settling in at home and doing well. Long Time, No Posts

WELL! I guess I've been busy. No, mostly I've been down on the couch with "round ligament pain." I don't know how this is for most women who get it, but I am more or less incapacitated. At first is was only getting me 2-3 times a week. Lately it was closer to 2-3 times a day. Then I just had four blissful days when I only felt fat. Then it hit me again today. So, thank goodness for my mom! She's basically been living here for 6 weeks at this point. Connor would be very unhappy if he was stuck here with me. I can't even go for a long walk with him because the pain comes on that quickly.
Nugget seems to be doing really well. My gestational diabetes test came back normal. I'm measuring huge and was asked by a cashier yesterday "How much baby are you having?" I was totally thrilled at my last appointment to still have a "2" as the first number of my weight. (Never thought I'd say that.) I've long since grown out of my wedding rings (though to be truthful I was having a hard time getting them on before I got pregnant) and now I'm swollen out of Tom's wedding ring, too. My feet look like over inflated balloons and I had to by men's size 11 Nike's yesterday. (sigh) Oh... and my inny? Forget it... it's outty. If I sneeze my belly button goes into orbit. (sigh)

Doctors visit on 1/19/11

So I had another visit today. This time with a different Doctor because my Midwife has had her little boy and Dr. Dempsy is not/will not be available with her impending birth.

I had my gestational diabetes test done and am awaiting the results. I was also mortified to find out I was only 3 pounds lighter then I was at my last visit before Connor was born. I had to stop and remind myself that I started out a whole lot heavier this time. Regardless though time for less chocolate and more salads. Otherwise there were no surprises and everything seems fine and on track. I mentioned to Dr. Fylstra that my last two ultrasounds have the baby measuring a week farther along then the initial ultrasound. He said I just have big babies. He went through the images and said my due date could possibly be April 18th. I don't know if he officially changed it, but my mom was pretty excited since that is her birthday.
